Barq's Frozen Root Beer and Vanilla Ice Cream Float

We saw these at Aldi the other week, and had to grab a box:

These are creamy and delicious! They don't really taste like a root beer float, but it's a tasty root beer-flavored ice cream treat. I first had these 4 years ago, and they're just as great today!

Barq's Lip Balm

I have this Barq's lip balm in my car:

It's surprisingly "correct" in it's flavor! If I had to guess what major root beer company this was, I'd say Barq's as it has the slight "bite" to it.

About exactly a year ago, I posted about seeing that these things exist, but I noted I couldn't find them anywhere. Recently, my wife brought 2 cases of 8 home from Aldi:

It's kind of like a push up where you peel off the top.

A light squeeze makes it slowly rise up.

So it's creamy ice cream mixed in with a root beer flavored ice cream. It's pretty good! Both of my boys loved them! And I thought they were a nice size: just 3 oz and 90 calories.  (And sorry for the speck of paint on my hand in that last photo... I was painting some of my siding, which is why my wife thought of grabbing some root beer and ice cream treats for me.)

Soda Flavored Lip Balm

I found this package of "Lip Smacker" lip balm at Target yesterday:

I'd probably eat the Barq's one. And I don't know how good Sprite would be on my lips...

So I just found out that THIS exists this summer:

I need to find these. Although, there are 24 in there, and I *could* go a bit overboard and have... I dunno... like 24 of these at a time. So I'll need to watch myself.

Right now, I can only find them on Instacart.

100th Post: Minnesota State Fair Root Beer

For my 100th post, I thought I'd do something fun. I spent the morning with my son at the Minnesota State Fair (it's opening day!), and we stumbled across this:

Only $1.50 for an icy glass of root beer? I needed something refreshing after chasing my 2-year-old around the fair for a few hours, so I bought a cup.

The sign said A&W (see the top photo), but the tap said Barqs, so I'm not really sure what it was. And I was too thirsty, so I didn't really stop to think or savor it. I just chugged the frosty deliciousness.

I should have walked a few blocks with the root beer because it would have been PERFECT with this fried (of course) "Minneapple" apple pie and ice cream:
