Serenity Sodas Lime and Coconut

I've had good luck with "Serenity Sodas" - they make some interesting flavor combinations, and they are "2 for 2" in my book. Last night, I cracked into my 3rd:

Serenity Sodas Lime and Coconut

Brand: Serenity Sodas Lime and Coconut.

Origin: Spring Lake Park, MN.

Purchase Place: Blue Sun Soda, Spring Lake Park, MN.

Sweetener: Sugar.

Review: This is another small bottler that was purchased by Blue Sun Soda, so it's now bottled there. The first sip tastes very "limey," and then it ends with the coconut hit. It's a BIT heavy on the coconut, but maybe that's because I always think of what my wife told me years ago: "everything coconut flavored tastes like sunscreen." She's not wrong. So it totally lives up to it's flavor, but I didn't totally care for the combo. It'd be better sitting on a beach somewhere... not huddled next to our fireplace on a 30 degree evening. Not bad, just not totally for me.

Score: 4 out of 10.

Raspberry and Basil Serenity Soda

Honestly, I haven't been looking forward to trying this:

Raspberry and Basil Serenity Soda

Brand: Raspberry and Basil Serenity Soda.

Origin: Spring Lake Park, MN.

Purchase Place: Blue Sun Soda, Spring Lake Park, MN.

Sweetener: Sugar.

Review: I was ready for an "odd" flavor, but that didn't happen. The first sip was quite good. I would definitely call it "raspberry," but the other flavor didn't seem like basil. It had another little "bite" of something, but it paired well with the raspberry making it a very drinkable soda. I'd almost call this more of an "adult" soda, but that implies that it's not sweet, and it's still quite sweet. Just a unique flavor that's totally worth a try! So far, I'm 2-for-2 with Serenity Sodas!

Score: 8.5 out of 10.

Root Beer and Vanilla Bean Serenity Soda

A few nights ago, I opened this after a bike ride / hike with my boys:

Root Beer and Vanilla Bean Serenity Soda

Brand: Root Beer and Vanilla Bean Serenity Soda.

Origin: Spring Lake Park, MN (another bottler that Blue Sun has purchased).

Purchase Place: Blue Sun Soda, Spring Lake Park, MN.

Sweetener: Sugar.

Review: First of all, this was my first "Serenity Soda," but I SWEAR I've had one of their sodas before. But there's no record of it on this blog. Huh. I'm at a loss.

Near the bottom of the label, it says "The perfect harmony of two flavors," and I was skeptical. But it was GOOD. I thought it was just "pretty good" at first, but the more I drank it, the more I liked it. It's not really a root beer "creme" - I don't know exactly how to describe it. It tastes like a super smooth vanilla syrup has been added to root beer, and in the best possible way. Honestly, the vanilla overpowers the root beer, but I'M OK WITH THAT because the vanilla is so good. This was unique and worth a try. (It could have made the creamiest root beer floats, but I chugged it too quick.)

Score: 8.5 out of 10.
